The Bug Theater and Paper Cat Films present their fourth annual production of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, a stage/film hybrid re-make of the 1968 George Romero zombie classic playing now through October 29th. Seven people find themselves trapped in a farmhouse surrounded by flesh-eating ghouls. As the hungry hoard grows outside, tensions rise between the survivors, exploding in a climax of gore, gunfire, and undead mayhem. Director Kris Hipps writes a new opening every year, and this year promises to be a topper when a small town "Tufferware" party goes horribly awry after zombies decide to crash the party. And that's not all -- this year promises...Alternate Endings!  Don't miss this bloody good Halloween treat.

Said director Kris Hipps: "I've been a zombie fan since I saw the original Night of the Living Dead as a kid on a Saturday afternoon Creature Feature and immediately started thinking about ways to barricade our house in case of a zombie attack.  A few years ago Duane Brown and I came up with the idea of doing a stage version. We brought the idea to Alex Weimer at The Bug figuring it would be a perfect fit, and the rest is undead history".

A unique aspect of the show is that the action taking place inside The Farmhouse is on stage, while the action outside is projected onto an overhead screen, utilizing sequences from the original film re-created and shot by Paper Cat Films using local actors. Produced by Alex Weimer, Kris Hipps, Duane Brown, and Donna Morrison, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD has played sold-out shows and is becoming an annual Denver Halloween tradition.

Cast members include Nik Ridley, Krista Reckner, Josh Putnam, Nancy Cain, Deb Flomberg, Janine Kehlenbach, Duane Brown, Dawn Bower, Jake Kropac, Kris Hipps, Jeremy Atkins, and Joe Tabano. Set Design by Sean Cochrane. Costume Design by Kris Hipps, Makeup Design by Jeremy Atkins.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD runs Friday and Saturday nights from October 7 - 29 at 8 p.m. with an industry night on Thursday, October 27. Discount tickets for anyone in full zombie costume.  For more information, please go to www.bugtheatre.org or call 303-477-9984.
