Firehouse Theater Company to Present VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, 8/29-9/26
Firehouse Theater Company presents "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" August 29 through September 26 at the John Hand Theater/Colorado Free University, 7653 East First Place in Lowry. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $22 Adult; $20 for Students/Seniors and are available by calling 303-562-3232 or on line at www.firehousetheatercompany.com.
Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia are visited by their movie-star sister, Masha, and her new boy toy, Spike. Old resentments flare, threatening to shake up Vanya and Sonia's predictable and deadly boring existence.
Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina, whose prettiness somewhat worries the imperious Masha.
Director Steve Tangedal has cast Stephen Maestas (Vanya), Caitlin Conklin (Sonia) Jenn Bass (Masha), Keegan O'Brien (Spike), Mollie Horne (Nina) and Lisa Young (Cassandra).
Christopher Durang's newest, smart, quirky and witty comedy was the winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play.
