Denver Center Theatre Company Wins Four 2012 Henry Awards

Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC) took home four 2012 Henry Awards during the Colorado Theatre Guild's 7thAnnual Henry Awards on Monday, July 16 at the L2 Arts and Culture Center. DCTC was represented in 14 categories with 15 nominations and was honored with two special awards.

Lise Bruneau won the award for "outstanding lead actress in a play" for George Bernard Shaw's Heartbreak House while Christina Wright captured the award for "outstanding costume design" for American Night: The Ballad of Juan José, by Richard Montoya, developed by Culture Clash and Jo Bonney.

In the special awards category, Charlie Miller, multimedia specialist and co-curator of Off-Center @ The Jones, was presented with the "outstanding multimedia presentation" award. Entering his fifth year at DCTC, Miller leads the multimedia department and has designed over 10 productions in four seasons. Miller also designs all the multimedia for Off-Center @ The Jones.

The National Theatre Conservatory (NTC) was honored by receiving a "special award" for its 28-year commitment to providing students with the ability to hone their skills from within a performing arts center. Established in 1984, the NTC, a three-year graduate acting school, graduated 319 students who continue to train, cultivate, inspire and entertain future generations through their successful careers.
