DCPA's CORDUROY Extends Due to Popular Demand

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) announces today due to popular demand, the Theatre for Young Audiences production of CORDUROY is being extended by one week, now running October 5 through December 16.

After selling out more than 100 performances for the original run, DCPA will add an additional 12 performances - eight Student Matinees and four weekend performances - of the production for PreK through 3rd grade students and families in The Conservatory Theatre.

"Theatre makes connections to the world through the power of storytelling. There are so many beautiful transferable skills students can develop through seeing live theatre. I am thrilled to continue our Theatre for Young Audiences work with Corduroy and to welcome so many young learners to the DCPA," said Allison Watrous, Executive Director of Education.

Last fall, the DCPA launched Theatre for Young Audiences with The Snowy Day and Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats,welcoming in nearly 19,000 Denver area students, teachers and families - 79% of whom attended on a full or partial scholarship.
