Ed distinguished himself in combat infantry training earning the coveted ‘Soldier of the Cycle' award competing against 830 other infantry recruits. Ed was a rifle squad leader and a lean mean fighting machine. After training Ed joined the 19th Army Band and Army Chorus at Fort Dix, NJ. He was soon offered a commission in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps. He served with distinction as a member of General James Snyder's staff at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, earning the rank of Captain during the turbulent Berlin blockade and Cuban missile crisis era. No one understands or appreciates our veterans and service members more than Ed. You can be sure of an entertaining and inspirational afternoon.
Using keyboards, vocals, and trumpet, Ed will take the audience on a magic musical carpet ride across our great land. In Act II he will pay tribute to service members and veterans by asking them to stand and be recognized by their branch of service. Veterans' families and the audience will then join Ed in honoring our service personnel by singing America the Beautiful, America, and Amazing Grace. A beautiful rendition of Taps will honor veterans who are no longer with us. The program will end with a rousing version of the Lee Greenwood hit, God Bless the USA.

On July 1st at 5:30pm in CRT's Main Lobby artist Jim Gilmore will open his show of sculptures of the American West and wildlife. Raised on a cattle ranch in southern Colorado, Gilmore has an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and animal habits. His extensive experience with wildlife helps him depict the animal or bird he is modeling with authenticity. He has received national recognition for his sculpture and regularly participates in nationwide exhibitions. He has completed many monuments, most recently a double life-sized bison and life-sized moose for two new Cabela's stores in South Dakota and Maine.
Also on July 1 at 5:30pm in CRT's Upstairs Gallery, artist Larry Basky will open his exhibit. Basky is best known for his colorful serigraphs, but he is also accomplished in the art of intaglio, monoprints, drawing and painting. He has presented over seventy solo shows and participated in numerous group shows both regionally and nationally. He recently moved from Colorado to Wisconsin, where he started The Basky Gallery and Studio, and conducts workshops on serigraph printmaking. Though entire compositions may be surreal at times, he is fascinated with landscapes. Most of Basky's paintings are colorful and vibrant - even pieces that are monochromatic have enough contrast and value change to make the work seem colorful.
