The Colorado Shakespeare Festival has canceled two performances of Treasure Island scheduled for Aug. 16 and 17 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities.

“The show has drawn thousands to the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre this summer. Unfortunately, ticket sales for the Arvada performances were slower than we had hoped,” said Producing Artistic Director Philip C. Sneed.

However, there are four remaining Boulder performances of this swashbuckling, family-friendly adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous adventure novel, on July 29 and 31, and Aug. 5 and 9.

“There is truly no more magical setting than the Rippon on a summer evening, and it's the perfect setting for this wonderful pirate adventure,” Sneed said. “We hope you'll 'set sail' with us at one of our Boulder performances.”

Tickets for remaining performances of Richard III, Noises Off and Women of Will are going fast. And due to popular demand, two performances of Twelfth Night have been added for Aug. 7 and 8 in the Rippon Theatre.
