The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities has selected Ann Crumb, renown for her work on Broadway and the West End, to play the role of Norma Desmond in the second fully staged regional production in the U.S. of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, which opens September 14 and runs through October 10, 2010.

Under the artistic direction of Rod A. Lansberry, this all-new, originally created production also features Kevin Earley as Joe Gillis, Jenny Gelwick as Betty Schaefer, and Stephen Day as Max Von Mayerling. Completing the principal cast are Mark Rubald as Cecil B. DeMille, Jeremy Sortore as Artie, Drew Frady as Sheldrake, and Markus Warren as Manfred.

David Nehls will provide the musical direction and Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck the choreography. Brian Mallgrave is the scenery designer, and Clare Henkel is the costume designer.
Based on the 1950 Billy Wilder movie with the same title, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, with book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, tells the tragic tale of has-been silent film star, Norma Desmond-stalled in the past and isolated in her dilapidated mansion-and her entanglement with a young screenwriter, Joe Gillis.
