Broadway vet Norm Lewis will star as Sweeney Todd in Casa Mañana's production of SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET. The limited engagement production will run November 10th through 15th and is directed by Gabriel Barre.

Winner of ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is the gruesome musical tale of bitter revenge in Victorian London. After being falsely jailed in Australia, the mild barber Benjamin Barker returns as the devilish Sweeney Todd, hell-bent on punishing those who sent him away and destroyed his family.

Norm Lewis most recently played King Triton in Disney's The Little Mermaid at The Lunt-Fontanne Theater on Broadway. His other Broadway credits include the roles of Javert in Les Miserables, Billy Flynn in Chicago, Painter in Amour, Eddie in Michael John LaChuisa's The Wild Party, Jake in Side Show, John in Miss Saigon and The Specialist in The Who's Tommy. He has also appeared in Actors Fund concerts of Dreamgirls, Chess, and Hair. He recently released his debut CD This Is The Life.

Sweeny Todd plays from November 10 through November 15.  Performances run 7:30pm Tuesday - Thursday; 8:00pm on Friday; 2:00pm and 8:00pm on Saturday;  and 2:00pm and 7:00pm on Sunday Tickets are available by calling (817) 332-2272 or by visiting www.casamanana.org.

Casa Mañana Musicals, Inc., the non-profit organization that managed the theatre, was run by a volunteer Board of Directors and General Manager Melvin O. Dacus. In 1962, programming was expanded with the introduction of the Children's Playhouse, a professional theatre series geared toward North Texas children. Each year since, nearly 150,000 parents, children, teachers and students have attended these popular shows.

Since its creation in 1958, Casa Mañana has grown into the largest performing arts organization in Tarrant County. In more than 50 years, five visionary men have led this organization, Melvin O. Dacus, Clarence "Bud" Franks, Van Kaplan, Denton Yockey and Wally Jones. Twenty-three men and women have led Casa's Board of Directors with hundreds of dedicated and generous volunteers have given their time and energy to serving beneath them. As Casa heads into its next 50 years, the commitment has never been stronger to present the highest quality live theatre and live up to its namesake, "The House of Tomorrow."
