Denton Community Theatre Presents Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, 4/9-4/24

By: Mar. 31, 2010

Denton Community Theatre is thrilled to present the classic Cinderella, music by Richard Rodgers, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Directed by Sharon Veselic with music direction by Ray Staniszewski, and choreography by Kris Walters, this production will bring the magical fairy tale to life on the Campus stage.

Abused by her step-mother and horrible step-sisters, the sweet Cinderella is visited by a fairy god-mother who magically provides her with the gown and gilded coach to go to the royal ball. While there, the prince falls madly in love with her, but the magic wears off at midnight and Cinderella flees without telling the prince who she really is. Only a single glass slipper is left behind for the prince to use to find his true love. He searches the kingdom and when he finds the foot that fits - happily ever after.

The beloved story is told with familiar songs like, "The Prince is Giving A Ball," "In My Own Little Corner," and "Ten Minutes Ago," to name a few. This production features Hannah Lane as Cinderella, Keith Warren as Prince Charming, and Connie Lane as Stepmother. A talented company of actors complete the cast. Bring the kids, bring the grandparents - all are assured a magical time.

Performances are April 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24 at 7:30 pm & April 11, 15, 18 at 2 pm at the Campus Theatre, 214 W. Hickory, Denton. Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors (62+), and $10 for children/students (through college).

Tickets are available at www.campustheatre.com, or at the Campus Theatre Box Office Monday through Friday from 1:00pm - 5:00pm. Credit card purchases may be done over the phone during these same hours by calling 940-382-1915. Group rates are also available.
