Dallas Theater Center has announced that the run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has been extended through Sunday, August 12, 2012. This is the first extension of a DTC production in the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre since the building opened in October 2009. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, August 5. Complete details, including how to purchase tickets, are included below.

For two generations, this joyful, family-friendly musical has been giving audiences a new appreciation of the Old Testament story of Joseph, the boy dreamer. Sold into slavery by his brothers, he became the ruler of Egypt. In DTC’s tuneful telling of this ancient story, practically every line is sung by the actors and a kids’ chorus, in styles from rock to western to a 1920s Charleston.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat features lyrics by Tim Rice, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and is directed and choreographed by Joel Ferrell at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, Potter Rose Performance Hall, located at 2400 Flora Street, Dallas, Texas.

The extension week runs Tuesday, August 7 through Sunday, August 12. Tickets are available online at DallasTheaterCenter.org or by phone at (214) 880-0202 for as little as $15 each.
