Canadian Brass To Perform at Bass Concert Hall 7/10

The University of Texas at Austin welcomes Canadian Brass, the world's premier brass quintet, to the Bass Concert Hall stage, Saturday, July 10th at 7:15 pm. Known for diverse repertoire that ranges from early renaissance music to Broadway and pop hits, their Bass Concert Hall program will include works by Monteverdi and Bach, selections from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess and Carmen by Bizet, and a set of hits by The Beatles.
Now in their 39th season, the Canadian Brass have been a primary influence in bringing brass chamber music to mainstream audiences around the world. Through their combination of virtuosic musicianship with engaging stage theatrics and humor, the group's warm rapport with audiences has led to a huge international fan base. With over 90 albums in their discography and album sales numbering in the millions, the group is also one of the world's most successful classical music recording artists. The group's membership, which has changed over their thirty-nine-year history, is currently comprised of Chris Coletti (trumpet), Brandon Ridenour (trumpet), Jeff Nelsen (horn), Keith Dydra (trombone), and Chuck Daellenbach (tuba). The Canadian Brass performance in Bass Concert Hall is the culminating event of the International Trombone Festival, taking place on the UT campus July 7-10. Hosted this year by the Butler School of Music, this annual event is the world's largest, bringing thousands of trombonists to Austin for a week of concerts, master classes, and clinics with the world's foremost trombonists.Videos
