There's an old showbiz cliche that says that you shouldn't work with kids or animals. Luckily, both contribute an enjoyable, charming quality to 3D Theatricals' gargantuan stage production of THE WIZARD OF OZ, its latest stage offering that performs at the Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton, CA through October 30. Despite being haunted by an onslaught of technical glitches and unfortunate gaffes, the show still manages to be fairly fun and lively in its attempt to recreate a beloved novel and film for the stage.

The play is directed by Andrew Barnicle, who most recently directed The Laguna Playhouse's acclaimed production of Private Lives. Shirley Valentine stars Dee Dee Rescher, who has previously performed at The Playhouse in productions such as Red Herring, The Underpants and The Pursuit of Happiness.

The month of December is filled with holiday cheer and entertainment as Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents three spirited seasonal programs: the holiday season kicks off with the Johnny Mathis Christmas Show (December 4), the classic musical Irving Berlin's White Christmas (December 13 - January 1) and celebrated opera baritone Paulo Szot in his Center debut (December 15 - 18).
