UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) Drama Department will present Naomi Wallace's play THE LIQUID PLAIN from January 31 through February 8. The production is commissioned through the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's American Revolutions: the United States History Cycle and is the winner of the 2012 Horton Foote Prize for "Promising New American Play". Jaye Austin Williams, current Chancellor's Post-Doctoral Fellow, will guest direct. UCI Drama's production will be the second production of Wallace's play, as well as the California premier.

Part of the Center's Family Series, ImaginOcean follows the lovable sea creatures and best friends Tank, Bubbles and Dorsel, who just happen to be fish. Audiences follow them as they set off on a remarkable journey of discovery. It all starts with a treasure map, and then the adventure begins, as they swim off in search of clues. All along the way, the friends sing, dance and make new friends, including everyone in the audience. Ultimately, they discover the greatest treasure of all: FRIENDSHIP. The holiday concert season at the Center kicks off with beloved American singer/songwriter Judy Collins in her show, Holidays and Hits (December 6) performing an array of holiday classics as well as her inspiring interpretations of folk standards. This is followed by the whimsical and critically acclaimed show DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL (December 10 - 14). The enchanting and ever popular Celtic Woman returns with the spirited show Home for Christmas - The Symphony Tour (December 15), and, finally, the popular Fiesta Navidad with Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano (December 23) rounds out the holiday programming with an evening of traditional Mexican songs and dance.

The work will be featured as part of Dance Visions, an annual constellation of faculty works which runs from February 11 - 15, 2015 in the Claire Trevor Theatre. The program will also include choreography by outstanding current faculty members Tong Wang, Shaun Boyle, and Donald McKayle.
