Join us tonight, June 24 at 8:00 PM, when Westport Community Theatre's Experimental Theatre Company (ETC) presents a staged reading of David Hare's sizzling play about the complexities of a love affair - "Skylight," directed by Tim Cronin. Winner of the 1996 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play, the New York Post wrote, "David Hare's luminously beautiful and wildly truthful Skylight is deeply and truly about people..." The New York Times said, "Mr. Hare has written a play that is both devastatingly clear-sighted and compassionate..."

Broadway and the West End applauded this intensely clear-sighted and compassionate play about a love affair - and its different stages. The play ponders the question of just what does ti take to succeed in "getting by"...? Kyra is surprised to see the son of a former love at her apartment door - he hopes she will reconcile with his distraught, now widowed, father. Tom, a restless, self-made restaurant and hotel tycoon, arrives later that evening, unaware of his son's visit. Kyra, who was his invaluable business associate and a close family friend until his wife discovered their affair, has since found a vocation teaching underprivileged children. Is the gap between them unbridgeable, or can they resurrect their relationship? Originally produced at London's Royal National Theatre, Skylight won the Guardian's coveted Best New Play award.

Skylight is a play that is both socially relevant and deeply human; both fierce and touching, it ignites good conversation and debate - a high-stakes night of passion... and socio-economics...
Directed by first-time WCT director Tim Cronin, the cast of "Skylight" includes Tom Butterworth, Sarah Greene and Peter Molesworth. Join us for what promises to be a great evening of theatre to kick off summer... when the passions of love affairs past and present linger in the memory and burn ever so brightly... Go to www.westportcommunitytheatre.com for directions; we look forward to seeing you!
