TheatreWorks New Milford Presents PETER AND THE STARCATCHER

On February 17, TheatreWorks New Milford will premiere the Tony Award-winning play, Peter and the Starcatcher, by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker. This musical play is billed as a "grownup's prequel to Peter Pan" and is the innovative and imaginative story based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson.

?From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.

The production features a superior cast of veteran regional actors: (Peter): Cullen Burling (Monroe, CT), Prentiss: Jack Harding (New Milford, CT), Ted: Karl Hinger (New Milford, CT), Molly Aster: Abbey Lynch (Sandy Hook, CT), Lord Leonard Aster: Dean Alexander (New Fairfield, CT), Black Stache: Matt Austin (New Milford, CT), Smee: Steve Stott (Brookfield, CT), Alf: Joe Harding (New Milford, CT), Mrs. Bumbrake/Teacher: Bruce Tredwell (Brewster, NY), Grempkin/Fighting Prawn: Alexis Vournazos (Danbury, CT), Captain Robert Falcon Scott: Chris Marker (New Milford, CT), Slank/Hawking Clam: Michael Wright (Sandy Hook, CT).

The play is under the direction of Alicia Dempster of Danbury and musical direction of Susan Lang of Woodbury, CT.

Peter and the Starcatcher runs February 17, 18, 23, 24, 25 and March 3,4,5,10, and 11. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays, with a 2:00 p.m. Sundaymatinee on March 5. Tickets for all shows are $28 for reserved seating. Students and Military personnel with ID will be admitted for $23.

On Thursday, February 16, Senior Citizens are invited to a free dress rehearsal at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23 at 8:00 p.m. is TheatreWorks' Pay-What-You-Want night. At this performance, you name the price for your ticket.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company, named Best Community Theater in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine. TheatreWorks is located at 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford , CT. Parking is located behind the Catherine E. Lillis Administration Building at 50 East Street, New Milford.
