The Hartt School, the performing arts conservatory at the University of Hartford, is hosting a myriad of diverse entertainments for the remainder of January and February, including:

SENIOR VOCAL RECITAL- JANUARY 23

Senior Vocal Performance majors present their annual recital accompanied by vocal coach Kevin Jones. Students performing are Stephen Corma, Jaeyoung Joo, Alyssa Marino, Claudia Rosenthal, Jenn Salamone, and Amanda Sieber. Admission is free and the concert begins at 7:30 PM, in Berkman RecitAl Hall, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue

CONCERT FOR HAITI- JANUARY 24

Join the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and choral groups from Hartford and beyond for a benefit performance of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem Op. 48. The performance will take place on Sunday, January 24, at 3:00 PM at the Immanuel Congregational Church, 10 Woodland Street, Hartford CT 06105. Admission is free.

A collection will be taken during the performance on behalf of the American Red Cross and its relief effort in Haiti. All of the people involved in the production of this concert have donated their time and talent. Please join us for a remarkable performance of a remarkable piece of music, and help us to raise funds to help the people of Haiti in their very present hour of need. DANCE WITH FULL FORCE DANCE THEATRE

Fu ll Force Dance Theatre, The Hartt School's professional dance company in residence, will be offering classes with company members and Artistic Director, Katie Stevinson-Nollet. Tiana Mancuso is the featured instructor for Saturday, January 23. Classes are held Saturdays through February 13, at 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford. AMIRI BARAKA & BLUE ARK

The Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at The Hartt School, in collaboration with the Artists Collective and the Jackie McLean International Arts Festival, celebrates Black History Month with a lecture and concert with poet/playwright/activist Amiri Baraka and word-music ensemble Blue Ark.
