Hartford Stage Launches 'Brand:NEW' Festival with Emery, DeVito, Magnussen and More, 10/16

Hartford Stage has announced that Lisa Emery, Lucy DeVito and Billy Magnussen are among the actors who have been cast in their Brand:NEW fall festival, which begins October 16 and runs through October 20.

The Festival features five new works are included in the event by playwrights Daisy Foote, Hana Sharif, Ken Weitzman, Michael Elyanow and Laura Eason.

The Rise and Fall of Day by Hana Sharif is directed by Eric Ting and features Enid Graham, Greg Keller and Ronica Reddick.  It plays October 16 at 7:30 PM.

The catch, a expose of baseball history by Ken Weitzman, will be directed by Lou Jacob and features Rich Topol, Jack Davidson, Makela Spielman, Pun Bandhu, Wai Ching Ho and Owiso Odera. It plays October 17 at 8 PM.

Him, by Daisy Foote, will be directed by Evan Yionoulis and features Lisa Emery, Tim Guinee, Adam LeFevre and Liz Morton.  It plays Oct. 18 at 2 PM.

A Lasting Mark by Michael Elyanow's will be staged by Jonathan Silverstein, will feature cast members Lucy DeVito, Clifton Duncan, Ben Graney, Lori Wilner, Ron Cephas Jones and Bruce MacVittie (Oct. 18 at 5 PM).

Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, a adaptation by Laura Eason, will be directed by Jeremy B. Cohen and features Ben Hollandsworth, Billy Magnussen, Chelsea Farthing, Christina Rouner, Robert Montano, Brock Harris, Tobias Segal and Charles Borland.  It plays October 19 at 7:30 PM.

Brand:NEW will additional host a playwrights panel including Romulus Linney, Christopher Shinn and ReGina Taylor as part of the event.
