Evasons and David & Dania Set for UConn Family Weekend, 9/22

Two entertaining couples are coming to Jorgensen to read minds and blow minds in two shows on Saturday, Sept. 22. Jeff and Tessa Evason will leave you spellbound as they speed-read your mind and take you on a psychic trip of good clean fun. Then David & Dania take over to wow you with their special brand of magic and lightning-fast costume changes.

The two dynamic duos appear in two shows, at 7 and 9 p.m., at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, as part of UConn Family Weekend, on the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs.

Since 1983, the Evasons have served up a slick blend of interactive demonstration, comic relief and spellbinding entertainment. Jaws drop as Tessa and Jeff time and again display their mastery of ESP, telepathy, super memory, prediction, telekinesis and levitation. There are no gimmicks; in fact, they offer $100,000 to anyone who can prove them false.

Siegfried & Roy named them their favorite act, bestowing the prestigious SARMOTI Award at the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas. On The World’s Greatest Magic on NBC, they were called, “the finest act of its kind in the world.” On Fox-TV’s Powers of the Paranormal, they were introduced as, “the most amazing mind-reading act you’ve ever seen.” Discovery Channel’s Grand Illusions calls them “a new generation of mentalists.” They have been named the Psychic Entertainers Association’s Performers Of The Year, and in 2003 were the first to receive “The Mentalism Award” from the celebrated Milbourne Christopher Foundation.

David Michael Maas and Dania Kaseeva – he a German singing ringmaster, she a headliner in the Moscow State Circus and hula-hoop phenom fresh from performing with the Big Apple Circus at Lincoln Center – met on tour in 1995. Since then, their brand of ballroom dance, acrobatics and onstage quick-change artistry has stunned judges, like the ones on “America’s Got Talent.” Their costume transformations forever put to rest the notion that Show Biz people are high maintenance.
