Downtown Cabaret Children's Co Closes the Curtain onRED RIDING HOOD: A VAUDEVILLE ROMP!, 4/11

By: Apr. 11, 2010

The Downtown Cabaret Children's Company will end its run ofRED RIDING HOOD: A VAUDEVILLE ROMP! with book, music and lyrics by GERALDINE ANN SNYDER on April 11th.

Featuring that Dancing and Singing sensation Red Riding Hood, Officer Patty "Top o' the Mornin'" O'Malley, and Everyones Favorite Singing Granny!

And Starring Vaudeville's Greatest Laughmakers, "Wolfie and Moley" (Together Again for the First Time!)
Join us for a pie-throwing, roller-skating trip behind the footlights and into the heart of show Business, when Vaudeville was king! Officer Patty O'Malley is on the beat as his friend Red Riding Hood prepares for her first solo trip to Granny's house. Granny is sicker than sick, and it's Red to the rescue with a basket of goodies. But watch out, Red! There's a wolf on the loose! A Wolf and a Mole, to be exact.

Enter Wolfie and Molie! The "Always Together" but washed-up Vaudeville team once opened for some of the greatest acts in show business history. Now, they're hiding out in the park, eating from the best garbage cans on a diet of "boiled socks." They are hungry and desperate when Red Riding Hood crosses their path, and the two bumbling, tumbling hooligans hatch a plot to get to Granny's house first and prepare for a feast!

One creepy detour and plenty of variety-house hijinks later, it's a happy ending, of course. But what of Wolfie and Molie? They end up as stars
behind county bars!
