The Columbus First Free Will Baptist Church Joins Gallery Hop

The Columbus First Free Will Baptist Church is gearing up to become a stop on the Short North's monthly Gallery Hop event. Located at 49 East Third Avenue, just one block east of High Street, the church will host a visual artist and musical artist for Gallery Hop each month beginning April 6.

Applications are now being accepted for visual artists who would like to exhibit their work at Columbus First during Gallery Hop. Selected artists will display and/or sell their pieces in the church lobby, as well as have the opportunity to distribute printed materials at the event. There will be no charge to the artist and no percentage of sales will be taken by Columbus First.

Applications must include all of the following:
Signed, official application form (available at www.ColumbusFirst.com)
Artist's biography listing previous exhibitions (750 words or less)
Artist's statement about the inspiration for their work and the message they would like to convey to the viewer (500 words or less)
JPEG images of five pieces which they would like to exhibit at the event (at least 1MB in size). Please include dimensions of the piece, what medium was used, and title (if any).
Applications must be received by midnight on February 15, 2013, and can be mailed to:

Applications may also be submitted via email to events@columbusfirst.com.

Once all the applications are received, the Gallery Hop committee will review the submissions and present selected applications to the church board for approval. Multiple artists may be chosen for different event dates in 2013.

All applicants will be informed if they have been selected no later than March 4.

The Short North hosts an event callEd Gallery Hop on the first Saturday of each month (rain or shine) from 4-10pm. Thousands of people walk High Street, visiting the various galleries and businesses to view and purchase art. Admission is free.
