The creative team at Shadowbox Live is making final preparations for the upcoming "rockumentary" Evolutionaries: The Stories and Music of David Bowie and Prince, opening Thursday, January 26 at their Brewery District theater, 503 S. Front Street.

As with any Shadowbox Live original production, Evolutionaries has been evolving for the past several months. Executive Producer and Director Julie Klein likens the process to building a human being. "Up to this point we've been building the skeleton of the show. This past week we started adding some muscle and tissue, and next week we'll be getting it dressed!"

Klein continues, "And, speaking of getting it dressed, we've gotten quite a few questions about what the costumes will be like for this show."

And, Shadowbox Live's costume design team has certainly had their work cut out for them. Both David Bowie and Prince were fashion icons, changing their looks numerous times over the years. Amy Lay, art director for Shadowbox Live says, "Our goal is to pay homage to the various styles, while keeping the costumes simple."

Lay, Klein and the rest of the creative team will continue to hone the show next week in preparation for it's first audience on Thursday.

"We're really excited to enter our final stages of production," adds Klein. "The show has great bones and now it's time to breathe some life into it!"

Evolutionaries: The Stories and Music of David Bowie and Prince opens Thursday, January 26 at 7:30pm and runs select Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays until May 25. For more information and reservations visit www.shadowboxlive.org.
