Shadowbox Live Hits the Ground Running in 2018! Just ten days into 2018 and the metaperformers at Shadowbox Live have opened their new sketch comedy and rock 'n' roll show Epic and their revival of their tribute show Front Street Funk. Additionally, the creative forces are well into rehearsals for their new original passion project titled The Dream, and plan to bring back audience favorite Which One's Pink?.

There's never a dull moment at the Brewery District Theater, where the passion to create new, thought-provoking, life-affirming art is the driving force for the metaperformers!

First up to kick off the new year is Epic, a show that celebrates the troupes first 6 years in their permanent home downtown Columbus. The show features original sketch comedy and rock songs, and, true to it's name, the material selected is, well, epic. Quick witted and fast-paced, Epic is receiving audience acclaim as one of the best sketch shows the troupe has ever performed.

Next to rock in 2018 is a metaperformer favorite: Front Street Funk. Described as a feast for the eyes and ears, Funk celebrates this upbeat, celebratory genre of music. But make no mistake, while the music is irresistible (and you WILL want to - and can - dance!), Shadowbox Live brings a thought-provoking element to the show, weaving a history of American pop-culture into the chronological trip through this music from the mid-60s to the mid-80s. Shadowbox Live breaks the norm with the staging of this show, allowing for a small dance floor for those that feel moved to shake their rump to the funk!

Opening February 8th is Shadowbox Live's latest "passion project": The Dream. This show, still under development, celebrates the unsung heroes of the decade that changed it all - the 1960s. Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech, The Dream tells the real-life stories of those involved with Civil Rights struggles and victories through spoken word, contemporary dance, and, most notably, music of the era. Beautiful, haunting, and moving, The Dream is not only a retrospective, but a call to action as we continue to work toward equal rights, tolerance, and acceptance.

And, back by popular demand, Shadowbox Live's Pink Floyd tribute show Which One's Pink? will be revived in mid-February. Split in two parts, act 1 tells the story of the band's founder, songwriter, and primary singer Syd Barrett through some of their most well-known songs. Act 2 pays homage to the album Dark Side of the Moon, paring the music with video excerpts and live action interpretation of The Wizard of Oz. Stirring, dark, and beautiful, Which One's Pink? is a sonic and visual journey.
