The Nationwide Insurance Popcorn Pops, the Columbus Symphony's Friday night summer series for children, kicks off its 2011 season on June 24 with "American Salute" conducted by CSO Resident Staff Conductor Albert-George Schram. Concert-goers are encouraged to dance and sing along with the evening's program that will include "The Star Spangled Banner," "This Land is Your Land," "The Stars and Stripes Forever," and many other patriotic favorites. Children will also enjoy free popcorn and free pre-concert activities including face painting, art projects, playing with musical instruments, and more.
The 2011 Nationwide Insurance Popcorn Pops presents the Columbus Symphony in an American Salute at Chemical Abstracts Service (2540 Olentangy River Rd.) on Friday, June 24. Gates open at 6:30pm. Pre-concert activities will be available from 6:45 to 7:45 pm.
