On Thursday and Friday, June 24 and 25, CAPA will offer a nostalgic return to the late 1920s with a silent film Buster Keaton double feature and a free antique car show.
Beginning at 6 pm each night, the Scioto Model ‘A' Ford Club will display their 1928-31 antique automobiles in front of the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.). At 7:30 pm each night, the CAPA Summer Movie Series pairs two
Buster Keaton comedies in a silent film double feature accompanied live by Clark Wilson on the Ohio Theatre's historic "Mighty Morton" theatre organ.
Sherlock Jr. (1924)
Film projectionist Keaton wants to be a detective. After proposing to his lady (McGuire), he is incriminated in the theft of her father's watch, and daydreams about solving the crime. Meanwhile, it's girl power that saves the day!
Seven Chances (1925)
Nearly bankrupt financial broker Jimmie Shannon (Keaton) is presented with his grandfather's will which leaves him $7 million if he marries before 7pm on his 27th birthday. The only catch is that his 27th birthday is today!
About the 2010 CAPA Summer Movie Series
Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, the CAPA Summer Movie Series at the magnificent Ohio Theatre has become one of central Ohio's favorite summertime entertainment traditions. Made possible through the generous support of PNC, the 2010 Series features 22 of the world's most treasured films.
The 2010 CAPA Summer Movie Series runs June 4-July 25. Day-of-show tickets are $4 and go on sale one hour prior to show time at the Ohio Theatre kiosk. Senior citizen tickets are available for $3.50. Now through July 11, strips of 10 tickets are available for $25, a savings of $1.50 per ticket. Strip tickets are good for any film in any combination. All tickets are general admission and seating is on a first come, first served basis.
