A magical place where chocolate is a vegetable, shopping for shoes is medicinal and wine is in the food pyramid heads to PlayhouseSquare May 22nd compliments of The Four Bitchin' Babes...back with their all-new hilarious musical review-DIVA NATION. Area audiences have become fans of "The Babes" following their previous three sold out stops at PlayhouseSquare performing the review Hormonal Imbalance...A Mood-Swinging Musical. This new "destination Diva" is an estrogen-packed excursion of comedic songs, attitude and terrific accessories!

The outrageously witty, multi-talented Sally Fingerett, Debi Smith, Nancy Moran and Deidre Flint warn "this ain't your grandmother's glee club!" The Boston Globe call them "traveling Oprah Winfreys" and pose: "How can funny be this pretty?" when describing the musicians-singers-actresses, whose comedic laments include "Elastic Waistbands," "Arm Candy," "Chocolate," The Introvert Song" and "Viva La Diva!"

The four continue their sorority-sister chemistry in Diva Nation with a good-natured wit and on-target harmonies that carries the show to a level even the testosterone set can enjoy. Each of the talented ladies has received multiple awards; they constantly juggle so many individual projects it is amazing they find time to tour together as Babes. The Four Bitchin' Babes are:

Sally Fingerett...This second-chance newlywed from Columbus, OH is one of the Babes' founders and a pianist, guitarist and composer. She turns "49" for the second time, has recorded 12 CDs (five of them solo) and was honored when several musicians--including Peter, Paul & Mary-- recorded one of her songs, "Home Is Where the Heart Is."

Debi Smith..."Goddess" to her husband and son, she knows what to do with all 95 pieces in a Sears Craftsman tool kit, can identify antifreeze by its fragrance, and makes pesto from her garden. She sings, paints, and even looks elegant playing a wacky Irish drum (bodhran). How come we still like her? Her songs have been recorded by Grammy winner Tom Paxton.

Nancy Moran...When she's not being honored as Virginia's Songwriter of the Year or being called "a modern-day Joni Mitchell," or recording solo CDs, authoring several books, audio series or giving live workshops, Nancy is the Babes' "Anointed Advocate Admiral for Abundant and Affordable Accessories."

Deidre Flint...Claiming a BA in Bling, a Masters in Make-up, Martinis, Men & Mayhem and a PhD in shoes (with a thesis on "Healing After High Heels"), Deidre's folk-meets-standup-comedy songs have been lauded by the likes of The New York Times, Billboard and The Christian Science Monitor and included in films, TV and radio programs.

Tickets for Diva Nation, starring The Four Bitchin' Babes, Sat., May 22 at 8 pm in PlayhouseSquare's intimate Ohio Theatre are: $37.75, $32.75 and $10 Smart Seats (on sale at playhousesquare.org; 216-241-6000 or The PlayhouseSquare Ticket Office).
