Cincinnati Directors Competition Announces New Dates 3/6-8

By:

CINCINNATI DIRECTORS COMPETITION III
New Dates/Times: March 6-8 Fri-Sat 7:30pm Sun 2:00pm

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
You can feel excitement in the air as edition two of this new cornerstone of the local theatre scene unfolds...the 3rd Annual Cincinnati Directors Competition! As in previous years, this year's competition pits stage directors against one another in a display of their best work. Each contestant will present a 30-minute piece in hopes of being chosen Best In Show for a $500 grand prize. Second place will receive $250. Over the course of one weekend six directors will showcase six different short pieces. These directors will be judged on the execution of their material. They will be judged by combining the votes of a panel of working/hiring theatre professionals from around Cincinnati with ballots collected from the audience. After two nights of competition, the first place winners from each night will go head-to-head in a final showdown on Sunday March 9th.

The CDC also offers directors a chance to receive professional feedback on their work. After a night of competition, the professional judges conduct private feedback sessions with each contestant.

WHEN: Regular competition will occur on March 6-7 at 7:30pm. The final competition between the winners of the previous 2 nights will be on Sunday, March 8th at 2pm. The winner of the Sunday showing will be named Grand Prize Winner.

WHERE: Columbia Performance Center, 3900 Eastern Avenue, Columbia Tusculum. Down the street from The Precinct, Bella Luna, Allyn's and Tostados.

WHO: Devon Campailla - Executive Director. Stephanie Boyd - Technical Director.

TICKETS: $15 ($30 Three Day Pass) Tickets available on line at www.newedgecliff.com.
