General Manager - Pier55

Pier55 seeks to hire a General Manager to join its acclaimed artistic and management team, beginning in April 2017. Pier55 is a 2.4-acre park, created in partnership with the Hudson River Park Trust, and is currently under construction, with three performance venues including a 750-seat amphitheater. Pier55 is a not-for-profit arts organization that will develop, produce and present new work across a broad art form range, including installations, dance, drama, and music of all disciplines.



Pier55 seeks a General Manager with significant experience to work with the artistic and management team, in both the planning and production of all performances. The General Manager will develop and manage program budgets, and oversee contracts and payroll in addition to supporting the planning and scheduling process for the artistic season; he/she will work in collaboration with The Parnes Office.



Duties will include, but are not limited to:



· Developing, planning and managing the annual operating budget



· Overseeing the budgeting process for each individual project/production, across mediums and developmental stages



· Preparing and executing all union contracts for each project/production



· Scheduling and coordination of artistic season, rehearsals, readings, workshops, etc; working with all relevant unions



· - Overseeing payroll and benefits for all production staff



Candidate should have significant experience in management, either in commercial or not-for-profit theater, preferably both. Candidate should also have a working knowledge of performance unions’ standard practices. Compensation commensurate with level of experience.
