My specialty is working with the actor on the selection, vocal/dramatic interpretation and presentation of musical theatre materials, both contemporary and traditional. I offer the singing actor the opportunity to develop/refine performance skills, gain interpretive insights into the activation of text, and assemble a song portfolio tailored to the individual.



I treat lyric as monologue (with an objective, conflict, discovery, resolution, etc.) using a modified Meisner approach in the activation of songs. This method provides the actor with practical techniques and guidelines that ground the individual's performance, create spontaneity, liberate the voice and alleviate performance anxiety.



If you're looking for repertoire, I usually recommend audition material I own (I have a substantial library) and provide copies for the performer at no extra cost.



I work out of my home on the Lower East Side of New York City and provide all accompaniment, so privacy is assured.
