District Production Manager



GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Coordinate the operation and provide technical support for approximately 40 events in the Roosevelt Intermediate School, Edison Intermediate School and Westfield High School Auditoriums to ensure effective administration of operational procedures.



QUALIFICATIONS:



• Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in theater production/design/technology preferred

• Three to five years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Theater experience in a school setting is highly desirable. Teaching experience preferred.

• Information technology -- verbal, written (communication skills), computer literate (Word, Excel, etc.)

• Knowledge of lighting systems and digital soundboard systems

• Analytical and organizational skills

• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate multiple activities during day and evening hours; some weekend hours are required depending on activities.

• Ability to lead student technical support effectively

• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status



REPORTS TO: K-12 Supervisor of Visual & Performing Arts



PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage and maintain all technical systems

2. Prepare for and run all technical aspects of school-based productions and rental events held in the performance space(s)

3. Serve as the Technical Liaison for all in-house and rental events

4. Supervise load-in and strike for all events occurring in the performing space(s)

5. Schedule rental events occurring in the performance space(s)

6. Supervise, coordinate and schedule student production team to be used at various events

7. Research potential revenue–generating performances/programs

8. Perform other related responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor of Visual & Performing Arts and/or his/her designee





Term of Employment: Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.



Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the New Jersey State law and provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation.
