5-Star Academy- Musical Theater Technique Class - 5 Star Theatricals

Musical Theater Technique Fall 2018 Classes:

Thursdays 4-7pm - Ages 12-18 (Start date: Sept 13th)

Saturdays 10am-1pm - Ages 8-13 (Start date: Sept 15th)



CLASS DETAILS: Musical Theatre Technique will focus on expanding a deeper, more precise understanding of the student’s acting ability and development of his/her acting skills in a song. Students will be assigned songs appropriate to their age and development, and workshop it over 12 weeks. Each student will have the opportunity to perform and observe other students during each class. Throughout the session, a guest from the entertainment industry (actor, choreographer, musical director, agent, etc.) will attend to provide feedback.

This class will run 3 hours and continue through December 6th and 8th. Class will not meet the week of Thanksgiving (November 22nd and 24th).

Cost: $50 per class for 12 weeks + $20 materials fee.

Location: Class takes place at Breakthrough Studios (1489 E Thousand Oaks Blvd Ste C, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362)

The 5-Star Academy of Performing Arts is run by Educational Director and Artistic Associate, Tal Fox. Tal has worked professionally for over 10 years in the entertainment and education industries. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in Communications from Pace University in New York City and has lectured and taught across the United States at schools, acting programs, and theatres. In her five years as Talent Agent at Kazarian/Measures/Ruskin & Associates she ran the bi-coastal (Los Angeles/New York) Equity/Theater department and developed the Youth TV/Film/Theater department. She has advanced many careers and put a multitude of actors on Broadway, in Television and Film, in National Tours, and in Regional Theater productions. Tal has experience performing, casting (credits include Center Theatre Group’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, Theatre @ Boston Court, Bleecker St. Theatre in NYC…), theatre tech, and in producing (with Broadway theater producer, Ken Davenport). With all of these resources, she brings an extremely high quality of understanding of both acting technique and business savvy to her students.
