Major Renovations Planned for Covedale Center This Summer

The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts - owned and operated by Cincinnati Landmark Productions (CLP) - will undergo a massive renovation aimed at improving the patron experience. The work was identified shortly after CLP bought the building in 2002 (with support from the city of Cincinnati), along with four other phases of renovation work to transform the old movie house into a 21st century performing arts center. The work scheduled for this summer is the last of the original five-phase renovation plan.
Straight No Chaser Comes to Aranoff Center in December

Atlantic Records recording group Straight No Chaser has announced details of their upcoming "Under The Influence North American Tour." The dates celebrate the upcoming release of the acclaimed a cappella group's eagerly awaited new album, "UNDER THE INFLUENCE," set to arrive in stores and at all DSPs on May 7.

CCM Professor of Drama Michael Burnham to Retire After 30 Years

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) Professor Michael Burnham has been a faculty member since 1984 and when asked about his many years of work for CCM, he muses, simply, 'I liked all of them.' He will retire this month, following the conclusion of the school year and his work as director for CCM's upcoming production of Execution of Justice, which runs April 18-20 as part of this year's Studio Series.

Know Theatre of Cincinnati Presents COCK, Opening 4/12

Know Theatre has announced the regional premiere of COCK by Mike Bartlett as our next mainstage production. This will be only the second American production following its premiere at the Royal Court Theatre, London. COCK opens April 12, 2013 and runs through May 11, 2013. Brian Robertson, who currently teaches in the Theatre and Dance Department at Northern Kentucky University, will direct this production. Some of his past directing credits include Camelot at the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center and A Flowering Tree at Cincinnati Opera. COCK features performances from Darnell Pierre Benjamin, Kevin Thornton, Danielle Knox, and George Alexander.

New Ground Theatre Festival Announces 2013 Lineup

From May 2-11, 2013, Cleveland Play House (CPH) will showcase a variety of new work from nationally recognized artists in its annual New Ground Theatre Festival. The centerpiece of this showcase of new work by America's most exciting playwrights is the world premiere production of Rich Girl, written by Victoria Stewart and directed by CPH Artistic Director Michael Bloom, featuring Tony Award-nominated actresses Dee Hoty and Liz Larsen. A festival highlight this year is an interdisciplinary presentation in partnership DANCE Cleveland of three performances of The Better Half by Chicago-based Lucky Plush Productions, with the help of funding from Arts Midwest Touring Fund with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, and National Dance Project of the New England Foundation for the Arts.
