Cincinnati Playhouse to Present VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, 4/25-5/23

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 2014-15 Robert S. Marx Theatre season comes to a riotous close with VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, Christopher Durang's madcap comedy about melancholy people. A smash hit on Broadway, VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE earned numerous critical accolades, including the 2013 Drama Desk and Tony awards for best play. It runs April 25 through May 23 in the Marx Theatre.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's popular Off the Hill series for families wraps up its 2014-15 season with Vern Thiessen's BIRD BRAIN, a charming and funny fable full of laughs and the lesson that strange behavior isn't always foolish. Recommended for ages 5 and up, BIRD BRAIN will tour to community venues throughout the Tristate from April 10 through May 23.
Broadway Producer Kevin McCollum Joins CCM Faculty

Peter Landgren, dean and Thomas James Kelly professor of music at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), has appointed leading Broadway producer Kevin McCollum to the position of Distinguished Visiting Professor. McCollum's initial appointment will be for three years and will become effective in August of 2015.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company concludes its season with the premiere of the much anticipated and hilarious 'One Man, Two Guvnors' by Richard Bean based on 'The Servant of Two Masters' by Carlo Goldoni with songs by Grant Olding. 'One Man, Two Guvnors' promises to be a riotous bash of a production complete with a colorful cast of characters in a hysterical world of mistaken identities, love triangles, and live music not to be missed. This production is directed by CSC Producing Artistic Director, Brian Isaac Phillips and features a large cast of Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Matthew Lewis Johnson, Justin McCombs and Caitlin McWethy joined on stage by a skiffle band of live musicians! When a random group of small-town strangers come together for a six-week community center acting class, real-life drama results. While Baker's quirky characters are definitely not Broadway bound, they are transformed in surprising and unexpected ways over the course of the class.

The Music Hall Revitalization Company (MHRC) announced today a major $10 million commitment toward the renovation and restoration of Cincinnati's iconic Music Hall from the Lindner Family. That act of generosity inspired Harry and Linda Fath to double their $2 million commitment toward the project to $4 million, leaving a $10 million funding gap of the $125 million goal to cover construction costs.
