Whiskey Wry to Present SELLING OUT at Gorilla Tango Bucktown, 8/2 & 9
Whiskey Wry Productions proudly presents an original sketch comedy show about advertising performing Saturdays July 19 and 26, Saturday August 2, 2014 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 5:30 pm. Approximately $500 billion a year is spent on advertising worldwide, and Whiskey Wry wants their piece - hence, "Selling Out." This 60-minute review satirizes topics such as sexist and racist advertising, not-so-subtle corporate sponsorship, and the emotional manipulation of the masses.
Driving consumer behaviors this go-round are performers Sarah Blantz, Gregory Fenner, Arti Ishak, Kizzy Aqueelah Kinte, Aram Rayzian, and Jacob Nicholas Young. Music Direction is by Javon Ford.
Whiskey Wry Productions was founded in 2013 by five graduates of The Second City Training Center: Andrew Daar, Nick Enquist, Kalah Mazac, Courtney McCormack, and Ryan VenHuizen. Specializing in cutting edge sketch comedy, Whiskey Wry produces several shows a year featuring diverse casts of new and emerging performers.
