Remember when you woke up hung over in a bathtub wearing your friend's mom's brassiere? Then stumbled home before dawn, to extract yourself from a truly embarrassing situation?

No? Well, The New Colony does. So get ready when one of Chicago's freshest creators of new work plans to jog your memory with Walk of Shame: Stories of Personal Humiliation and Regret told through Theater, Comedy, Music and Dance, a late-night comedic celebration of everyone's worst trip home, Friday, October 16 at 10:30 pm at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago. Tickets to Walk of Shame are $15 in advance, $20 day of show. For tickets and information, call 773.871.3000 or purchase online at <http://www.victorygardens.org> .

Just wait...stories of that awkward meeting with your ex's fiancé, audible flatus during a job interview, or the after effects of having two too many snowtinis at the company holiday party will pale in comparison to the honest-to-God tales on tap from The New Colony. Guest performers also include The Dangerous Strangers, the house band for the Panik Room, a neo-cabaret show led by Jonny Panik and the Master Composer Kurt Nihilist; The Plagiarists, who will share the true story of quite possibly the most shameful sexual experience in the history of shameful sexual experiences; Beth Stelling, host of Entertaining Julia, the wildly popular variety show in Chicago's Boystown every Sunday at Town Hall Pub; and Margot Bordelon and Cassy Sanders, co-writers/directors of Theater Seven Chicago's Lies and Liars.

Walk of Shame, a co-production of Victory Gardens Fresh Squeezed and The New Colony, was conceived by James Asmus and Evan Linder. The New Colony's host with the most, Dan Jessup, will emcee the evening. The New Colony's vignettes for Walk of Shame are directed by Evan Linder and Meg Johns.

The New Colony's Walk of Shame is the official fall kick-off of Victory Gardens Theater's 2009-2010 Fresh Squeezed season, a series of late-night, low priced offbeat performance-based events produced by the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, targeting younger and diverse audiences while celebrating alternative voices and approaches to creating new work.

The New Colony's appearance on October 16 is actually the first of three Walks of Shame slated for Victory Gardens' 2009-2010 Fresh Squeezed series. Stay tuned to victorygardens.org/freshsqueezed for details about The New Colony's return this winter for an LGBT-focused Walk of Shame - Queer, as well as Walk of Shame - Female, featuring women as the heroines next spring.

Victory Gardens' 2009-2010 Fresh Squeezed series promises to explore the art of storytelling from every direction, boasting an eclectic mélange of talents with an emphasis on the works of women and queer artists. This season, Fresh Squeezed will also showcase national paragons including Mike Daisey, Charles Busch, Julie Halston, Michael Kearns, Terry Galloway, Tim Miller and Holly Hughes, along with local favorites like The Neo-Futurists, 2nd Story, Blair Thomas, and Rohina.

Collectively, Victory Gardens Fresh Squeezed will celebrate bold and honest works that combine for a cultural melting pot where no ingredients are omitted. All Fresh Squeezed performances are at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago. Tickets are on sale now. About The New Colony

The New Colony, founded by a group of young, professional actors, writers and directors in Chicago, dedicated to the creation and production of exciting, original theatrical experiences, is best known for previously tackling Amelia Earhart, frat boys, and musical Tupperware, all in their first season.

Having worked in and out of Chicago and after establishing their careers with honors such as writing scholarships, winning the World's Playwright Competition, and invitations to theater festivals around the country -including The New York International Fringe Festival where they have been recognized for Outstanding Musical (2006) and Best Music and Lyrics (2008), the founders decided to collaborate their efforts in the form of The New Colony.

Determined to capture Chicago's theatrical roots of risk-taking, innovative theater and story-telling, The New Colony sets out to create a theater experience that will welcome, engage and immerse our audiences; making them feel like they are a member of the New Colony community rather than just an anonymous observer.
