Paramount Theater Will Debut New Musical AUGUST RUSH

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Paramount Theater will debut a new musical in 2019, August Rush. The musical, based on the film of the same name, is the story of an 11 year old orphan who uses his musical talents to search for his parents.

This is the first time that the Aurora theater will debut a new musical.

Paramount's President and CEO Tim Rater broke the news in a mailer announcing the new season.

"For the first time ever, we're partnering with a creative team from New York to produce a brand new musical right here in Aurora," Rater writes. "What does this mean? It means that you could be the first ever to see this production before it goes anywhere else, perhaps even to Broadway."

The season also includes Legally Blonde on September 5th, The Wizard of Oz from November 14-January 6, and The Producers from February 6-March 17.
