Chicago Chinese Cultural Institute presents Once Upon a Full Moon with Beauty and Melody, the captivating all-female ensemble, a celebration of the Chinese Moon Festival. Hailing from Szechuan, China, the classically trained musicians, dancers, and vocalists perform using traditional Chinese instruments like the ruan, pipa and suona. The breath-taking performance invokes centuries of history and culture from ancient Chinese melodies to the hip and contemporary music of today in a visual and aural tapestry.
