Performances will be November 5th, 12th, 19th, at 7pm and December 3rd at 8pm at Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago 60647. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door; to purchase tickets, please call 773-598-4549 or visit www.gorillatango.com.

A Woman Alone by Dario Fo and Franca Rame tells the story of Sharon: a captive housewife who inhabits a world in which imagination is the only thing unrestrained, where comically tragic discoveries coat the imploding walls of her repressive circumstance, and where psychosis and sanity intersect to blast glass ceilings into raining shards - creating a world in which those shards are falling onto bloody and grasping hands. An exploration of gender norms, and what human beings are capable of doing under oppressive circumstances, A Woman Alone asks us to consider our place in the fabric of society, and inspires us to question the threads and stitches that weave it.

India Duranthon (Director): India is a director, playwright, and teaching artist with a passion for theater for social change. In Atlanta, India directed 9 Parts of Desire with Starving Artist Productions, received funding from Emory University's Brave New Works to direct two original pieces Writer's Block and Fragments, was a company member with Theater Emory, and president of the Oxford College Drama Guild. Since graduating from Emory University in 2014 with a B.A. in Theater Studies, she's completed numerous internships and an apprenticeship, become a teaching artist for Northlight Theatre, a produced playwright with 20% Theater Company, and is currently directing A Woman Alone by Dario Fo and Franca Rame at Gorilla Tango Theatre opening in November 2015. India is interested in a type of theater that takes humanity, stands it up, lights it up, and puts it onstage.

Natalia Via (Actor): Natalia is new to Chicago, having moved here after completing her B.A. in Anthropology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. There, she was in multiple theatrical productions, including Macbeth, Avenue Q, Hair, 9 Parts of Desire, Cloud 9, and played the title character in Jose Rivera's Marisol. Natalia was also a member of Rathskellar, Emory's comedy improv troupe as well as multiple original works centered around theater for social change. Since her arrival to Chicago, Natalia has taken part in a workshop at the Goodman Theater for Jose Rivera's new production, Another Word for Beauty and was extremely honored to have worked with such talented and established professionals. A Woman Alone is her first fully staged production since moving and she is excited to share this important piece with you all!
