Casting Director Jane Brody to Host Actor's Career Workshop at Green Shirt Studio, 8/16
Green Shirt Studio, an acting and performance training center located at 4407 N. Clark St., is pleased to announce that legendary casting director Jane Brody will be hosting a special workshop entitled the Actor's Career Workshop at Green Shirt Studio on Sunday, Aug. 16 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The workshop is $75.
For the past 45 years, Jane has been working as an acting teacher, actress, producer, casting director, agent, and stage director. She received the Casting Society of America's Best Location Casting award for the film Fargo. As an actress, she performed at such theatres as The Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, Drury Lane in Chicago, Los Angeles Actors' Theatre and the Merle Oberon Theatre where she received the Los Angeles Weekly's Best Actress Award. In Chicago, Jane founded the Acting Studio Chicago where she taught for 15 years and taught at DePaul University.
Jane's first book, The Actor's Business Plan: A Career Guide for the Acting Life, will be released in October 2015 by Bloomsbury Press, and will be followed by Neuroscience, Archetype, and Stanislavski for Routledge Press in 2016.
In this hands-on workshop, Jane will share her insight into the realities of being an actor and gives you practical tools to help formulate a realistic five-year plan. Her humane approach is the essential map you need to find happiness in your career and life.
