About the Artist

Leesa Richards is a Detroit-born singer-songwriter and consummate performer whose jazz-rooted phrasing and kinetic stagecraft inform her powerful, soulful voice and compelling live presence.
Critically acclaimed for her turn as Mary Magdalene on the national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, she has performed with icons, such as, Faith Hill, The Bee Gees, Whitney Houston, Gloria Estefan, Shakira and Joe Bonamassa, and recorded with artists including Barbra Streisand and Lenny Kravitz.
Leesa knew the next phase of her career was to pursue professional singing and songwriting and she debut her solo album “Mother’s Child”. The selections blend
jazz sensibility, soul, rock and R&B into intimate, narrative songs shaped by personal themes of love and loss.
Leesa’s life-long love for jazz transformed to a nationally renowned career as a singer and songwriter with productions as THE LEESA RICHARDS QUARTET. The performances are a deep and jazzy musical journey that transcends from past to
present as well as her original compositions and unique jazz interpretation of contemporary hits.
