(06/17/2013) - This summer The Broadway Dreams Foundation kicked off the 2013 Summer Performing Arts Intensive Tour, CIRCLE OF DREAMS with all-new programming in Atlanta and Charlotte. Both cities participated in the first-ever Dream Lab which allowed students to collaborate with the entire BDF creative team to workshop the numbers and material to be presented as part of the tour. (05/23/2013) - High school seniors of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) got the graduation ceremony of their dreams on Saturday, May 18, when Disney Theatrical Group President Thomas Schumacher delivered their commencement address, and the diplomas were presented by 'Mary Poppins' herself: UNCSA alumna Rachel Wallace. (08/29/2011) - On Saturday August 27, 2011, BroadwayWorld.com's CEO/Editor-in-Chief Robert Diamond, in the midst of Hurricane Irene married actress Jennifer Hallie Rosen after a 17 month engagement. The two were introduced by a friend of Rosen's, who wasn't able to make the wedding, as a result of the weather and warnings throughout all the boroughs. The BroadwayWorld.com News Desk stayed feverish all weekend while the couple said 'I Do', as news was coming fast about theatre cancellations, schedule changes and travel advisories in addition to all things that were happening in other parts of the country and the world, not affected by the Northeast's local weather.

(11/12/2010) - Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions celebrated the opening of the 2009 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Billy Elliot the Musical at the Durham Performing Arts Center. The show, currently playing through November 14, 2010, celebrated their opening week with a kickoff party at Pops, a local Durham restaurant, on Sunday evening. (07/02/2010) - Yesterday, July 1, the American Idol season 9 top 10 finalists will be touring North America as part of their 2010 American Idol Live! tour. The tour began yesterday with a concert at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The American Idol season 9 top 10 finalists will be making 49 stops this summer. The winner of season 9 was Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox was the runner-up.

(10/27/2009) - Two-time Tony Award®-nominated singer and actor, Tom Wopat, gave a master class to more than 90 students and faculty members at UNC Charlotte's Lab Theater in Robinson Hall on Thursday (Oct. 22). Critically acclaimed jazz pianist, Bruce Barth, accompanied Wopat during the session, which was organized by the UNCC Department of Theatre and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's Education Department.
