PlayMakers Rep Welcomes Obie Winner Taylor Mac Tonight
PlayMakers Repertory Company presents Obie Award-winning actor-playwright-performance artist Taylor Mac in a solo concert tonight, April 22 in Chapel Hill.
Mac is currently featured as the lasciviously charming Emcee in PlayMakers' hit Mainstage Season finale "Cabaret." As an extra treat, when "Cabaret" closes he will appear for one night only in a taste of his newest creation - "The 1780s," a 90-minute excerpt from the "24-Hour Concert of the History of Popular Music." Over the next two years, a bedazzled Taylor, in the sartorial splendor of his awarding-winning New York productions, is singing 24 concerts, each based on one of the last 24 decades of popular music. Ultimately all 24 concerts will be stitched together culminating in a 24-hour extravaganza..
The concert will take place Monday, April 22 at 7:30pm at Top of the Hill's Back Bar, 100 E. Franklin Street, Third Floor, in Chapel Hill. Tickets are $25 each and are available by calling (919) 962-7529 or online at www.playmakersrep.org. Space is extremely limited.
