LOVE JONES- THE MUSICAL Coming to DPAC on October 18

By:

Love Jones - the Musical is not just a stage play... it is the MUST SEE musical event of 2016! Don't miss the opportunity to see it when it comes to DPAC on October 18, 2016. No question about it. Fusing an A-List musical lineup with a movie title that is nothing short of a cultural phenomenon, Love Jones - the Musical is a brilliant idea coming along at exactly the right time.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, August 12 at 12noon.:

A stage adaptation of one of the greatest urban films of all time. Screenplay written and directed by Theodore Witcher

Originally released as a movie in 1997, Love Jones became a cult classic that captured the imagination of an entire generation! Ask any culturally-aware man or woman over the age of 30 about Love Jones and you will almost certainly encounter a nostalgic, almost reverent, retelling of the classic, yet gritty, love story of Darius and Nina. The brand recognition of this title, amongst the core demographic, is astonishingly universal.

We've taken this title and brought it to life with some of the biggest names in music today. Musiq Soulchild, Chrisette Michele, Marsha Ambrosius, MC Lyte, Dave Hollister and Raheem DeVaughn have been carefully selected as they each bring a sizable audience and a recognizable catalog of hits that will make Love Jones - the Musical an event with unquestioned appeal. Produced with the size and scale of a concert, we've given this show all of the elements to make it a magical, transformative experience for the audience. Think of it like a concert, only with a theme. And that theme is the telling of a classic story that captured the hearts and minds of an entire generation of music and movie lovers.
