Collaborative Arts Theatre Stages Incorruptibe 11/4-14

By: Sep. 28, 2010

Collaborative Arts Theatre continues is record-breaking, audience-pleasing 5th anniversary season with Michael Hollinger's farce, Incorruptible, at Spirit Square's Duke Energy Theatre November 4-14.
About Incorruptible

1250 A.D. is shaping up to be the darkest year of the dark ages. Floodwaters are rising. Fires are raging. The murder rate is soaring. What's worse, it's been 13 long years since the enshrined skeleton of Saint Foy, the patron of the monastery at Priseaux, France, has delivered a miracle. The drought has tested the monks' faith and depleted the abbey's coffers.

The monk's spirits soar when they hear the pope plans to travel to Priseaux. They rejoice that his visit will be the blessing they need to replenish their worldly assets. Their joy is short lived when the pope decides to stop at a neighboring monastery that also claims relics of St. Foy - and where miracles are actually occurring.
Now it's up to a one-eyed con man, a mercenary monk, a singing prostitute, one ruthless peasant and the nun from hell to set things right.

Peter Smeal, a larger than life figure in Charlotte theatre, will direct the comedy.
