Blumenthal to Host 'Pick Your Seats Night' at Belk Theater, 9/23

Theater fans who would like to pick their seats in person for Blumenthal's Five-Show Mini-Packages or Duke Energy Broadway Lights season tickets have the chance to do so Monday, Sept. 23 at Blumenthal's first Pick Your Seat Night at Belk Theater.

Show fans are invited to drop by Belk between 5:30 and 8 p.m. and check out the sightlines throughout the theater. Once fans identify where they'd like to sit, Blumenthal ticketing staff will help them find open seats in that location for the shows of their choice, including the Broadway megahit, The Book of Mormon coming this winter to Belk Theater.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to get inside information on how shows are scheduled and presented in Charlotte. Behind the Curtain, an insider Q&A with Blumenthal President Tom Gabbard, will be held at 6 p.m., followed by a backstage tour of Belk Theater at 7 p.m. Visit BlumenthalArts.org/PickYourSeats for details.

Single tickets are not on sale at this time for most of Blumenthal's Broadway lineup, so season ticket and mini-package buyers who attend Pick Your Seats will have the opportunity to purchase the best open seats for many shows. They also will get the benefit of the best pricing, since shows often increase their ticket price when single seats go on public sale.

Buyers at Pick Your Seats night can select from a full seven or eight-show season ticket, which guarantees a renewable seat for next year, the same seat for all the shows on this year's Duke Energy Broadway Lights Series, and other exclusive season ticket buyer benefits. Five-show mini-packages also will be available. Fans can create their own packages by selecting their five favorite Broadway shows, including The Book of Mormon coming to Belk Theater Dec. 26, 2013- Jan.5, 2014 or include concerts and special attractions like Cyndi Lauper or John Oliver. Both season tickets and mini-packages can be purchased on multi-month payment plans and buyers at the Pick Your Seat event also will receive a $50 restaurant gift certificate with their order. Single show tickets will not be available at Pick Your Seat night.

The first 100 guests will receive a free gift bag. Everyone will have the chance to enter to win a $500 US Airways gift card. Free parking will be provided in the Bank of America Corporate garage after 5 p.m.
