After New York, EVERSCAPE Debuts in North Carolina

Bare Theatre and Sonorous Road Productions present EverScape, an original script by local playwright Allan Maule, running October 6 - 23, 2016.

EverScape debuted at the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival receiving critical acclaim with Theater In The Now declaring, "EverScape is a stunning visual explosion that brings the gaming world to life."

EverScape follows four New Yorkers who are stuck in the day-to-day realities and complex challenges of life. Their escape - team up online to play their favorite fantasy video game. When EverScape Inc. offers them the chance to play their way to jobs as game developers, the lines between reality and the virtual world start to blur.

Under the direction of local fight choreographer and director Heather J. Strickland, the regional premiere of this fast-paced, action-packed show will jump between the reality and the fantasy of the worlds we must live in and those in which we choose to live.

"There really isn't more than you can ask for in 90 minutes of theater - epic fight scenes, touching love scenes, true friendships, and enough fantasy that we can all escape for a bit," says Strickland. "Add all that to the humor and quick wit of Allan's script and you have a show that all audiences can find joy in - gamer or not."

Tickets and rewards including t-shirts, author-signed copies of the script, a customized game of Dungeons & Dragons, and even dinner with playwright Allan Maule can be obtained by contributing via Kickstarter.

Bare Theatre, a Raleigh-based mobile theatre company, strives to connect with audiences by taking new approaches to time-honored works and presenting new works from local artists. The company recently received recognition in The News & Observer's year-end honors, specifically for the work of Associate Director Rebecca Blum, as well as six nominations at the 2016 Triangle Theatre Awards. Bare Theatre takes its name from the minimalist staging but high-energy, physical approach to the works of Shakespeare and historical texts.

Sonorous Road Film & Theatre Studio, conveniently located near Downtown Raleigh and within walking distance to NC State & Cameron Village, was founded in the Spring of 2015 by Raleigh-native, teacher & actor Michelle Murray Wells, in order to provide local artists a nurturing and safe environment to unleash their creativity and grow stronger as people.
