Former Levon Helm Band guitarist Jimmy Vivino returned to Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY on Friday to present an evening of music by The Band, dubbed "The Band Songs: A Celebration of Richard, Rick and Levon." Joining Vivino (who played piano for most of the evening) were a line-up of musicians formerly associated with The Band or The Levon Helm Band, including guitarist Jim Weider, drummer Randy Ciarlante and bassist Byron Isaacs. The evening's special guest was founding member of The Band Garth Hudson, who accompanied the musicians in recreating many of the classic songs culled from The Band's first three records. Selections included "Caledonia Mission," "The Weight," "King Harvest," "Whispering Pines," "It Makes No Difference," which featured a guest vocal appearance from Hudson's wife Maud, and many more. Throughout the evening, Hudson also paid tribute to his recently fallen bandmate with a selection of solo piano pieces. Jambands
