Totem Pole Playhouse Sets Summer Children's Theatre Programming

By:

Totem Pole Playhouse, Pennsylvania's premiere summer theatre located in Caledonia State Park between Chambersburg and Gettysburg, PA, will present several family-friendly children's theatre productions throughout the summer.

Totem Pole will present a special Children's Theatre performance of Rumpelstiltskin free of charge 10 a.m. Saturday mornings, July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd and July 30th. Rumpelstiltskin tells the tale of a miller who desperately wants to work for the king and his beautiful daughter, Annette. After the miller tells the king Annette can spin straw into gold, the king says that if she can spin fifteen bundles of gold in three days, not only will the miller get the job but the girl will be queen! If not, something terrible will happen. The only problem? She can't spin straw into gold. After a treacherous deal with Rumpelstiltskin, Annette's only hope is that the audience can help her. This show is suitable for children of all ages. A meet & greet with the cast will be offered after each performance. Equity Membership Candidates who are acting interns at Totem Pole Playhouse this season will perform all the roles in this production, which is fully-sponsored by Adams Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Totem Pole Playhouse's Children's Theatre Camp, directed by Bryton Zook and featuring children ages 8 to 12, will present a free showcase performance of The Tale of Snow White, a funny adaptation of the popular story by The Brothers Grimm. Featuring a gaggle of forest animals, friendly Dwarf Villagers, ladies-in-waiting who love limericks, the Huntsman, and even a representative from the Department of Natural Resources, The Tale of Snow White is fun for the whole family! Performance will be Friday, June 24th at 1 p.m. and is suitable for all ages.

Totem Pole's popular Comedy & Improv Theatre Camp, directed by Karen Land, will be offered from June 27th-July 8th. Campers will learn how to create memorable original characters, develop comedy sketch skills, and how to create improvisational scenes and stories from their own imaginations. The camp will present a free-of-charge Whose Line is it Anyway? styled show at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 8th on stage at Totem Pole Playhouse.

Enrollment for the Comedy & Improv Camp is still open by calling the Totem Pole Playhouse box office at (717) 352-2164.

Totem Pole Playhouse is located off of Route 30 in Caledonia State Park in Fayetteville, PA half-way between Chambersburg and Gettysburg. www.totempoleplayhouse.org
