Theatre Harrisburg Presents THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, Now thru 11/17

Theatre Harrisburg continues its 2013­2014 Mainstage season with the original stage version of the cult movie classic Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW . Opening with a st special Halloween night performance tonight, October 31 at 11 : 30 p.m . at Whitaker Center , other performances are scheduled for November 1 , 2 , 8 , 9 , 14 , 15 , 16 & 17 . Show times are Thursday at 7 : 30 p.m . , Fridays & Saturdays at 8 : 00 p.m . and Sunday at 2 : 00 p.m .

Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW is the tale of naïve newlyweds Brad and Janet who seek refuge from a storm and end up in the asylum­like castle of the outrageous gender­ bending Dr . Frank N . Furter . With a delightful rock score and a plot which spoofs old­time horror flicks , this interactive musical is nothing less than a glitter­rock , horror , comedy , alien , transvestite circus - and heaps of fun .

Theatre Harrisburg makes full use of the Whitaker Center's size , scope and technical capabilities for an amazing live production that is unlike anything else being presented in Central Pennsylvania.

Audience members are encouraged to wear appropriate costumes at all performances and do the " The Time Warp ! " A special ROCKY gift bag full of theatre­friendly props ( with instructions ) for audience participation will be available at a nominal cost , but patrons are asked not to bring any other props . Additionally , this show contains mature language and sexual situations , so parental discretion is advised .

Theatre Harrisburg takes its slogan " Where Community Takes Center Stage ! " very seriously and recognizes that current economic conditions make it difficult for many of their friends and neighbors in Central Pennsylvania to enjoy Live Theatre . That's why every seat in the house of the opening weekend performances of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW ( November 1 & 2 ) is st priced at only $ 15 . Special opening night tickets for the 11 : 30 p.m . October 31 performance are all priced at $ 30 . Beyond that , tickets are still a very reasonable $ 20 , $ 29 & $ 35 . Music Director for Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW is Gregg Mauroni , and the entire production is directed and choreographed by Steven Flom . This program is funded , in part , by the Cultural Enrichment Fund , the capital region's united arts fund . Theatre Harrisburg is the Resident Theatre Company of Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts.
