Millbrook Playhouse to Present THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, Begin. 10/15

By: Sep. 16, 2015
After an exciting summer with sold-out shows like The Marvelous Wonderettes, and critical successes as The Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash, Millbrook is excited to announce that they are extending their 2015 programming with a thrilling production of the rock musical and the cult favorite The Rocky Horror Show.

"After surveying more than five hundred of our loyal patrons, we discovered that what audiences wanted at the Millbrook Playhouse was more shows, so the Board of Directors and I have to decided to take the challenge and give our patrons what they want and what better of a title, than The Rocky Horror Show and what better a time of year than Halloween season in Central PA?" says David Leidholdt, Producing Artistic Directors.

The Rocky Horror Show follows squeaky-clean sweethearts Brad and Janet on an adventure they'll never forget, with the scandalous Frank-n-Further, rippling Rocky and vivacious Magenta. Get ready for a night of fun, frolics and frivolity at Millbrook Playhouse's production of Richard O'Brien's classic and beyond thrilling rock musical. Bursting at the seams with timeless classics, including Sweet Transvestite, Damn it Janet, and of course, the pelvic-thrusting Time Warp, Millbrook's Rocky Horror Show is set to be a non-stop party!

Board President Erla Mae Fredrick states: "We have shown The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the past, but as a one of Central PA's only professional theatres we thought it time to bring the thrills and chills of the stage adaptation to the Playhouse. David is assembling an amazing cast, and this show is sure to be a wild ride from beginning to end and can only be experienced LIVE ON STAGE! Audiences will definitely leave, telling their friends and wanting more".

Celebrate fall as only Central PA can provide, performances beginning October 15 and plays through October 24. Show dates and times are October 15, 16, 22, 23, 24 at 7:30 pm and October 17 and 24 at 11:30 pm. Please call 570-748-8083 or visit the website for all available show-times.

While the plot and jokes of Something Rotten will be appreciated by most audience members, if will be especially welcomed by musical theater nerds who will recognize the beginnings riffs of Pippin’s Magic to Do and brief homages to a certain Technicolor Dreamcoat.  The more you know, the more you will laugh.
