Fulton Theatre Announces 2018-19 Season

The Fulton Theatre unveiled an amazing lineup of shows for the 2018/2019 season! During the Fulton Theatre's annual Dinner on Stage event, Executive Artistic Producer Marc Robin-who is celebrating his 10th anniversary at the Fulton-gave a preview of the thrilling lineup that awaits Lancaster theater-goers in the coming season. To celebrate his 10 years, and the Fulton's incredible growth during that time, Robin has curated an entire season of awe-inspired performances produced with the renowned Fulton flair.

Treasure Island September 18 - October 14, 2018
On the glorious and epic scale of Les Misérables, Treasure Island is a sweeping saga of treachery on the high seas. This original musical was created and launched right here at the Fulton with our audiences in mind! Young Jim Hawkins is left orphaned and inherits a coveted treasure map that any swashbuckler would kill for, including the feared and unpredictable Long John Silver. Left in the care of Dr. Livesey and his squadron, Jim's naïveté could spell the end for them all! Before the sails are hoisted, Silver's band of pirates covertly invade the ship, falsely portraying cooks and other crewmen and are determined, at any cost, to seize the gold. Set to an exhilarating and majestic score, Treasure Island is a dangerous expedition sure to please any thrill-seeker!

42nd Street November 13 - December 30, 2018
Broadway's Largest Tap Sensation and a signature Fulton dance extravaganza! Glitz, Glamour, and the 'Lullaby of Broadway,' the Tony Award-winning musical, 42nd Street is bursting with show-stopping number after show-stopping number. With stars in her eyes, Peggy Sawyer leaves small town PA for the bright lights of the big city. An immediate and lucky discovery lands Peggy a chorus part in a Broadway-bound show; facing continuous adversity, she makes plans to leave it all behind... until a 'break' may put her back in the game and catapult her to stardom! 42nd Street features an invigorating score, with memorable Broadway standards such as "We're In the Money," "About a Quarter to Nine," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo," and the title song "Forty-Second Street"! 42nd Street at the Fulton will excite your senses and energize your spirits for the holidays!

Chicago January 22 - February 17, 2019
One of Broadway's longest running hits and an Academy Award-winning film, Chicago, will heat things up at the Fulton Theatre when it makes its professional regional premiere! It's the Roaring 20s and everything is larger than life; a swinging vaudevillian night club scene, flappers, shysters, notoriety seekers, and murderesses. Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart want it all, their independence, celebrity, vengeance, and to use the corrupt justice system to win their freedom. All that glitters is not gold and today's headlines are quickly replaced with the next scandal, but Velma and Roxie will stop at nothing to "Razzle Dazzle" in the spotlight. With a tantalizing score; "Cell Block Tango," "When You're Good to Mama," "Mr. Cellophane" and more, Chicago promises to be "All That Jazz"! The Fulton's production of Chicago will be like you have never seen it before-as we give a nod to the glory days of burlesque.

The Tony Award-winning romantic comedy for Best Musical will take your breath away! Two thirty-somethings from Dublin, with music in their souls, meet by chance in a local bar as he is ready to walk away from the melody that has left him heartbroken, until she gets a hold of his music and his heart. She attempts, with great effort, to keep things professional as they write new music together, so he has the chance to pursue both his musical dreams and his ex-girlfriend in New York City. Based on the acclaimed film, this touching musical captivates audiences from the first note and will sweep you away with its timeless romantic score, including the Academy Award-winning song "Falling Slowly."

Sophisticated Ladies April 30 - May 25, 2019
Join us as we turn the Fulton Theatre into the Cotton Club! The Tony Award-Winning legacy of The Duke is celebrated on stage in the glamorous show stopping production of Sophisticated Ladies. A jazz legend with a name that has stood the test of time, Duke Ellington's musical expression captivates audiences with his stylish big-band sound. Relive the days with such hits as "Take the "A" Train," "I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good," "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" and the title song "Sophisticated Ladies." This lavish musical extravaganza features spectacular dancing, outstanding vocals, and an onstage big band that will transport you back to the era when big band was "The Thing."

The Mystery of Irma Vep October 16 - November 4, 2018

Glass Menagerie February 12 - March 3, 2019

As the memories are revealed, Tom and his mother Amanda, wish for nothing more than for Laura to find a loving husband. Tom sets up a blind date for his sister with his coworker from the shoe warehouse, while Amanda's obsession and frustration is pushed to new extremes while Laura is left vulnerable and exposed like her glass figurines.

Pinocchio March 30 - April 13, 2019
Dream with Pinocchio as he yearns to become a real boy in the Eichmann Family Series Production of Pinocchio! The mischievous children's story follows Pinocchio, the marionette, as he is brought to life by a special wish made by Gepetto, the toy maker, who longs for a son of his own. A magical fairy appears to grant Gepetto's wish, temporarily. The fairy tells Pinocchio he will become a real boy as long as he is good and always obeys his father. Join Pinocchio on this heartwarming adventure, where dreams really do come true!

Princess and the Pea May 11 - May 25, 2019
Nestled in a land far away, a Prince and his kingdom are in a desperate search of a maiden worthy of being a Princess. Get ready to move it move it, with the gang from DreamWorks animated picture Madagascar as they stampede into our family series. Watch as the pampered animals from New York's Central Park Zoo escape and find themselves on an unexpected journey to Madagascar. Join Alex the lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the giraffe, Gloria the hippo, and the four plotting penguins for laughs, dancing and of course a wild time!

The Fulton first opened its doors in 1852. 165 years later, this national historic landmark theatre continues to entertain, educate and delight audiences, bringing live theatre, music, and more than 120,000 patrons into downtown Lancaster annually. Since its inception, some of the brightest stars of theatre, music and film have appeared on its stage, including Sarah Bernhardt, Mark Twain, Lionel Barrymore, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, W.C. Fields, George M. Cohan, Treat Williams and Lancaster's own Jonathan Groff.

Today, under the leadership of Executive Artistic Producer Marc Robin, the Fulton Theatre produces a mix of comedies, dramas and musicals, employing the talents of professional directors, designers, actors and playwrights from across the country. The Fulton also offers classes for children, teens and adults as well as numerous community engagement programs across the region.
